The Blackstone Valley Youth Leadership Academy is a unique leadership program for 9th and 10th-grade students in member high schools in the Blackstone Valley. The Academy seeks to enhance the leadership skills of young people and strengthen their connection to the Blackstone Valley. Students apply to and are selected by their high schools in the fall for the 25 seats in the upcoming class. The Academy runs twice a month after school on Tuesday afternoons from November to May. Meetings are held at selected locations in the Blackstone Valley. Students put their leadership skills to work through selecting, planning, and implementing an individual community service project. They also have volunteer and internship opportunities following graduation.

Based on the feedback from the community, we will be launching BVYLA Middle School for 7th and 8th graders in January. Recruitment of middle school students will run from November 18 to December 6.
