On Wednesday May 5, 2021 the Blackstone Valley Youth Leadership Academy celebrated their graduation at the beautiful Asa Waters Mansion site in Millbury, MA. Twenty-five freshmen and sophomore students completed a six month curriculum building leadership skills that culminated with individual community service learning projects. These projects ranged from teaching mindfulness and meditation techniques to fellow students and teachers to building a much needed storage closet for the school music department and collecting basic necessities for those in need. Keynote speaker, Denielle Burl, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at College of the Holy Cross, challenged graduates to take advantage of extraordinary opportunities. Following this advice while implementing the leadership skills learned will benefit students' careers and community in years to come. Congratulations!
