Next Gen Tools You Will Want to Use!

The Foundation, with the continued support of MassHire Central Career Center and Connecting Activities, are proud to announce the completion of Phase 1 of our NextGen Project!

NextGen Talent offers tools that assist advisors and students as they explore career options and outcomes in our region.

The Foundation invested in the creation of NextGen Tools specific to Central Massachusetts and the Blackstone Valley.

Included in BVEF's NextGen Talent project are Labor Market Literacy Reports. These tableau public reports, explore well-paying job opportunities in Central Massachusetts filtered by education level, demand projections, and salary.

Tool #1: “Where Are the Well-Paying Jobs in Central MA?" and can be found HERE.

Tool #2: The Navigator.

This searchable directory provides information on a wide range of postsecondary technical programs such as an automotive technician or HVAC associate degree, as well as professional programs such as a bachelor's degree in nursing or construction management, or a combined BS/MS degree in social work. The Navigator goes beyond college-based programs to highlight local apprenticeship programs and other non-college workforce training programs that lead to well-paying jobs in the Central Massachusetts area. Unlike other college selection tools in the field, Navigator drills down below the institution level to identify high-value career-related programs of study within each program based on NextGen Talent’s analysis of the labor market returns of the program. In addition to highlighting the labor market payoff of programs, Navigator provides detailed information on the program-specific admissions process along with tips on how to improve the chances of program admission.

Finally, Navigator offers “Spotlights,” short, blog-style articles that provide guidance to students and their advisors about specific career paths and related high-value postsecondary programs.

A login is required for the use of Navigator. Access to this innovative new tool can be obtained through the Foundation. Please contact Danielle at dwence@bveducationfoundation for more information.
